As a final farewell to the 2018/2019 academic year we held our JOYFUL MELODIES Children’s Concert on June 28th 2019. To start off our concert, we began with a heart-warming video that showed our JKIS parents the love and thoughtfulness that went into the concert preparations. Leading our performances, the BSKL Primary School string quartet played a classical piece, followed by a Jazz trio from BSKL’s Secondary School who gifted us with a livelier tune. These beautiful pieces of music gave our parents and students an idea of what our children can achieve if they commit to daily musical practice.
Our adorable ballet dancers were next to grace the stage, bringing a sweet innocence to their routine as they tip-toed and twirled their way through the music. Following our ballet dancers, each class took turns coming to the stage, presenting us with the endearing dance, the delightful song, or the clever rhyme that they had spent months working to perfect. Between performances, videos of each class were played on the giant screen, showcasing the hard work and effort our students put into this concert.
The Grand Finale of JOYFUL MELODIES began with a video of our JKIS students giving words of love and appreciation to their parents. As the video ended, the entire student body and teaching team entered the stage, singing and dancing in harmony while they celebrated having “The Best Time Ever”. Confetti filled the stage, bringing the final song to an end. Parents were visibly moved to tears as they realized, perhaps for the first time, how much their child has grown up and achieved. One class at a time, parents were called up to the stage to collect their child and participate in an appreciation ceremony. Our JKIS Students had lovingly prepared a small gift to give to their parents at this time. Before our families said goodbye, they stopped at our Parent Appreciation Photo Booth to take a commemorative photo souvenir to remind them of this precious memory.
JOYKIDS could not be more pleased with the result of the JOYFUL MELODIES Children’s Concert and we are SO thankful to every teacher, parent, and child who participated in making this event so spectacular. The success of this concert has brought the 2018/2019 academic year to an end on a sweet note. We wish all our families a beautiful summer holiday and we look forward to seeing you again next term.
