Physical Education

Physical Education (P.E.) is a vital component of the curriculum at our school. JoyKids believes that providing children with a variety of enjoyable sports activities will inspire a life-long dedication to a healthy lifestyle and love of exercise.

Preschool Students

Our physical education curriculum for preschool children is unique; we integrated different types of sports in the curriculum throughout the year which gradually build upon each other.

Children in preschool will participate in swimming in the first term to practice gross motor skills, coordination and self-awareness through low-impact movements. As children gain more strength, we challenge them further by introducing them to rock climbing, which engages the whole body and requires some degree of strategy to stay on the wall. Finally, as the children mature, they engage in gymnastics lessons where they focus on hand-eye coordination, finer movements and motor skills. Children will also work together in teams to accomplish drills and exercises which gives them the chance to interact and learn team awareness.

Nursery Students

Nursery students are still developing physical self-awareness, general coordination and larger movements. It is appropriate for nursery students to engage in water play to develop bone and muscle strength through low-impact activities. Nursery students will participate in water activities throughout the year.


In addition to the activities mentioned above, sport is an important part of the well-rounded curriculum we offer our children. We encourage all types of sports and activities at JoyKids because of the long-term benefits they provide.

Sports help children to develop physical skills, experience exercise, make friends, have fun, learn to play as a member of a team, learn to play fair, and improve self-esteem. They can help physical development, cognitive and academic, psychological development, social development, and character development.


Regular physical activity is an important part of a healthy lifestyle. Making physical activity a priority and encouraging good habits in children from an early age is important and can help them to develop the skills they need to continue being active throughout their lives.
